Papyo β€” Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 August 2026

πŸ”’ Offline-first Β· no ads Β· your documents stay on your device
The short version. Papyo is an offline PDF editor. Every tool β€” editing, converting, merging, compressing, protecting β€” runs on your device, and we never collect or upload your documents. There are no ads, and there is no account. To keep the app working we collect limited, pseudonymous diagnostics β€” no advertising ID, no cross-app tracking, and nothing shared with advertisers β€” and anyone can switch that off in Settings, free or Pro.

1. Who we are

This policy explains how Papyo ("Papyo", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in the Papyo mobile application (the "App"). Papyo is developed by Logopit, located in TΓΌrkiye. If you have any questions, contact us at support@papyo.app.

2. Information we collect

Your documents and files

The PDFs, images, and Office files you open or create in Papyo are processed entirely on your device. We never receive, upload, or store your files or their contents β€” in any version of the App, free or Pro.

Account information

None. Papyo has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email, or phone number.

Diagnostics

To keep the App stable and to understand which features are used, Papyo collects limited technical data β€” usage events and crash diagnostics β€” as described in section 8. This never includes your documents, does not include your advertising ID, and is not shared with any third party for their own purposes.

Everything here is switchable, by everyone. Analytics and crash reporting can be turned off in Settings by any user β€” they are not a paid feature and never have been. Turn those off, turn off the optional font download, and Papyo runs entirely in airplane mode with no outbound connection at all.

3. On-device processing

All of Papyo's features β€” in-place text editing, converting to and from Word/Excel/PowerPoint/HTML/images, merging, splitting, reordering pages, compressing, watermarking, and password protection β€” run locally on your device. Your content does not leave your phone to be processed.

Papyo's one optional network feature, the font download described in section 5, can be disabled in Settings so the App functions fully in airplane mode.

4. Device permissions

PermissionWhy Papyo uses it
Storage / All files accessTo open the PDFs and documents you choose and to save the files you create or edit. Files are read and written locally; nothing is uploaded.
CameraOnly when you use the QR-code / barcode scanner. Scans are not stored or transmitted by us.

Papyo does not request the Android advertising-ID permission, and no advertising identifier is collected (see section 7).

5. Network connections

Papyo is offline-first. The App may connect to the internet only for:

6. Purchases and subscriptions

If you buy Papyo Pro, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Google may share limited purchase information with us (such as whether an order completed) so we can activate your Pro features.

7. No advertising

Papyo does not show ads. Not in the free version, not anywhere. That is a deliberate product decision, and it has three consequences for your privacy:

Papyo Pro is a capability subscription β€” it unlocks in-place text editing, fill & sign with digital signatures, and batch processing. It does not remove ads, because there are none to remove.

8. Analytics and crash reporting

To keep Papyo reliable, the App uses Google Firebase as our processor:

Neither is shared with a third party for that party's own purposes, and you can turn both off in Settings whether or not you subscribe.

9. Third-party services

10. Children's privacy

Papyo is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Data security

Because your documents stay on your device, their security is governed by your device's own protections (screen lock, encryption, and the permissions you grant). PDFs you password-protect in Papyo are encrypted locally. Please keep your device and Papyo up to date.

12. Your rights

Papyo does not collect your documents or any account data, and collects only the limited technical data described in section 8 (with no advertising ID). Depending on where you live β€” for example under the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA/CPRA, or TΓΌrkiye's KVKK β€” you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, email support@papyo.app and we will respond as required by law.

We do not use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not sell or share your personal information.

13. Data deletion

Papyo has no user accounts, so there is no account to delete. The limited technical data described in section 8 is pseudonymous and is not tied to your identity. To stop all collection, turn off Analytics and Crash Reports in Settings, or uninstall the App (which also clears its local data). To request deletion of diagnostic data associated with your device, email support@papyo.app; we will action it, including via Google's Firebase deletion tools where applicable.

14. International users

Papyo processes your content locally on your device wherever you are. The limited technical data handled by our service providers (Google Play, Firebase) may be processed in the countries where those providers operate, subject to their own safeguards.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. We will post the revised version here with an updated "Last updated" date, and for material changes we will provide a notice in the App or store listing.
